The definition of backlash is a sudden violent backward movement or reaction. I wanted to create a piece about reaction and how some actions...have consequences. I use a melody that is both whimsical and rather wild with harmonies that are harsh and brash to create an environment of adventure and chaos. The piece uses different colors and combinations of instruments to display a wide variety of explosive emotions. From start to finish this piece has a chaotic energy that resolves to an energetic finale.
