WOODWIND QUINTET

Beautiful Elixirs is a two movement dance suite that highlights the feeling of love, both in a good way and a bad way. The opening movement evokes the sweet emotions often experienced at the beginning of a relationship, overflowing with charm and sweetness, yet shrouded in the mystery of what the future may hold. In contrast, the second movement introduces a dramatic twist: two lovers are cursed by one another, forever yearning to be close despite their plight. The piece transforms into a deadly, seductive tango.

With this work I wanted to show that love- like elixirs- can be one’s remedy however it could also be another’s poison
